2020 Day 2 Recap
For day 2, our 6 designate riders were Jared Zeeman, Darcy March, Liz Vant Erve, Andrew Deane, Derrick Francis and Neil Penney. The group left Osoyoos up the Anarchist mountain in Osoyoos bound for Grand Forks 122km later after a stop in Greenwood with our friends at Deadwood Junction. Arriving into a very smoky Grand Forks the group was met by friends from the Grand Forks Citizens on Patrol, families, and other area riders cheering at the roadside.
Meanwhile, a small group rode the 140km from Osoyoos to Kelowna, while other teammates logged their miles around Grand Forks, Genelle, Penticton, Vernon, Salmon Arm and Nelson. Thank you to the spouses and families who are shuttling these riders and acting as support crew while they ride from home.
For the designate riders, these first 2 days were long and hot days. Tomorrow’s designate riders will face the Paulson Summit and we hope the smoke in Grand Forks clears overnight. Across the region, thank you for your honks, waves, signs, cheers and donations.
Ride Captain Retired Staff Sergeant Major, Julio Krenz.
