2020 Day 8
Teams were excited to get back on the road today after air quality prevented them from being on the road. Our 6 designate riders left from the Prestige Salmon Arm where the support crew had a restful night. A visit with supporters Sedo’s Deli and Ben’s Towing and the team headed westbound. Although we weren’t able to have lunch in Chase at the school, the Chase Rotary still hosted us for lunch at Doug & Jacqui’s home including a delicious lunch, and a special visit from retired commissioner senator Bev Busson.
After lunch the team cycled into Kamloops and up to the Coast hotel where a small group from Vernon met the team at the same time to finish the day. Tonight our dinner was donated by SaveOn Foods Brockelhurst thanks to Ryan for supporting our team.
Other riders competed their 100km from home in Kelowna, Cranbrook, Vernon, Nelson, Castlegar and Merritt. Tomorrow a team rides from Kamloops to Vernon before the final day on Sunday. As always, honks & waves are greatly appreciated along the way.
Ride Captain, Julio Krenz
