2020 Day 9

Today we started out in Kamloops with a small mechanical problem, but ended the day in Vernon with a warm welcome. Our designate riders started in Kamloops fearing the rain that usually comes on Day 9 every year. After lunch in Falkland, the team arrived into Vernon with a warm welcome to the Prestige Vernon Lodge, where we had a Little Ambassador family meet the team to share their story of how we were able to help. A major surprise for the team, and a mood booster at the end of the day.

While most of the team is nearing their goal of 1,000km tired legs are starting to count down until they reach that goal. Some riders even hit 1,000km today so while they don’t “need” to ride tomorrow, they’ll do it as an added bonus.

Tomorrow is the last day to end our 20th Anniversary Ride, and we’ll have extra teams of riders cycling from Vernon to Kelowna to finish off the journey for the year. Thanks to everyone who has given the team a honk, wave, donation or words of encouragement.

Sincerely,

Ride Captain Julio Krenz
