All Tucked In

The 2017 team finally coalesced at the Delta Grand Okanagan, our amazing hosts for the evening. Our Ride Captain, Julio, introduced everyone and Courtney gave us a general idea of what the following ten days will entail. Some words of encouragement and inspiration from the South East District Officers, a sneak peak about the kids we’ll meet during our journey from Grants Coordinator Gail, and everyone tucked into a fabulous meal.
As a new member of the Team and a rookie road cyclist, I was feeling a bit edgy but all the plucky new comers stayed focused on the purpose of the ride and looked forward to meeting the families along the way. Everyone is very excited to get riding and start enjoying 10 days of camaraderie – I just hope I can keep up with such an elite crew.
After a long first day that stretched into the evening, we out of town Riders have been kindly accommodated by the Sandman Hotel Kelowna to ensure we get a good rest and awake full of vim and vigour. Tomorrow, the intrepid Team departs. Sleep well everyone.
