I want to ride my…

Tomorrow is the day! Twenty intrepid cyclists will embark on the 21stCops of Kids Charity Ride, ending the long weeks of anticipation, fund raising, training and angst. After a seemingly endless summer of fire, smoke, heat and viruses, I am thrilled the day is finally here and we can all enjoy a few days of riding and camaraderie.
This year will look different as the team must take precautions and follow public health guidelines. The cheering crowds and the family visits will be necessarily smaller and more subdued. Nevertheless, that will not diminish the drive of this team to raise as much money as possible to help as many little hearts as possible. All the kids and their families will be on our minds as we cycle around the Okanagan and Kootenays, hopefully spreading some cheer along the way.
Cops for Kids is an amazing group of dedicated volunteers and I am very proud to be a part of the team once again. As I write this, I can already feel the ache in my legs and the strain in my back but I know it is so worth it. Ok, I gotta go, I’m in the middle of a big bike race!
