Chasing the Rain: Crawford Bay to Creston.

Today was another incredible day on the road for Riding Bicycles for Cops for Kids!

After a wonderful stay at the Prestige Lakeside Resort in Nelson, we headed out for another day of riding, friendship, and supporting kids in our communities.

Our morning started with the ferry crossing and the climb up from the Crawford Bay ferry landing. Once we conquered that first big hill, we were rewarded with a stop at Crawford Bay School, where we had the chance to connect with the school and share a little about what this ride is all about.

From there, we continued on to Kokanee Springs Golf Course, where we were treated to a fantastic taco lunch. And let’s just say yummy!

With full stomachs and plenty of kilometres ahead of us, we climbed back on the bikes and headed toward Creston. Along the way, Kootenay Lake Road treated us to some absolutely amazing views. The scenery made those hills and miles just a little easier to tackle.

We also managed to pull off something pretty special today by chasing the rain all the way to Creston and somehow we managed to stay dry!

As we rolled into Creston, we were welcomed by the Creston Fire Department, who hosted our arrival in partnership with Badges for Bright Futures. It was an amazing welcome and a great reminder of how many people and organizations come together to make this ride possible.

And then came some incredible news.

Thanks to the Creston Golf Tournament, we received a $22,500 donation to support our efforts! That kind of generosity is what makes this journey so meaningful.
