Creston to Cranbrook – and a Jail & Bail!
by Steve Mercandelli, Creston
Good Morning Creston!!
This morning, we all gathered outside, put air in our tires, made minor adjustments needed and chatted about the great evening we all had at the Kokanee Brewing Tour, if you ever get the chance the tour is totally worth it and the staff there are amazing.
We hit the road and made our way to Cranbrook, our first stop was at the Yahk Kingsgate Community Hall and were welcomed by many local residents who had put together an amazing spread of homemade muffins, cookies, rolls and piping hot coffee. The fine folks there were amazing as always and cheered us back on the road.
We stopped for lunch at the Moyie Provincial Camp Ground, it’s always a beautiful spot to stop by on your travels to enjoy our lunch provided by SaveOn Foods in Creston.
After lunch we started our final push into Cranbrook, many RCMP members met us and provided us safe passage to the Cranbrook RCMP office, we met family, friends, MLA Tom Shypitka, and many RCMP members who all showed us such great support.
We performed our raffle draw for the electric scooter provided by Cranbrook Dodge, a new mountain bike provided by Northstar Bike Co And a years supply of delicious cinnamon buns from Maxs place. While we rode today, a Jail & Bail event took place at Tamarack Centre which helped us raise the funds we need to continue supporting the local kids in our community.
We then head over to our resting place for the night at the beautiful Prestige Inn, get cleaned up and head over to Boston Pizza who provided us our meal tonight, we always look forward to this stop. Now, with full bellies we look forward to tomorrow and the lower km that takes us all the way to Salmon Arm. See you soon Shuswap!
