Embracing the Joys of a Day on the Road
Where does one begin? We woke up well rested in Cranbrook Prestige Hotel. The water Vitamin C and mixed nut snack for the road was a nice touch to help us feel like home. One of the staff had a grandchild that benefited from Cops for Kids support and her gratitude and well wishes were heart felt as she approached our group to tell the family’s story before our departure.
Off to the ABC for a breakfast (yummm Tater Tots) time, and so much more.
Next road side Eddie a traditional team photo at Fort Steele.
Back in the vans, we were able to catch up on some lost sleep as we transported to outside of Golden and Yahoo out to ride in the fresh air for 30km. And a quick stop at Lady Grey school to fill our heart with joy seeing children and hearing their cheers for the team. Our arrival at the Golden RCMP allowed us to enjoy the delicious lunch packed for us by Mr. Mike’s in Cranbrook. With full bellies, back into the vans again bound for Revelstoke to the RCMP, where we mounted up and headed west to our final destination of the day – 3 Valley Gap.
After a quick shower and a tour of the ghost town resort, we enjoyed a delicious BBQ dinner from the family. I have to say this is a great way to spend a birthday chasing sunshine and beautiful views.
