‘Twas the Night Before the Ride

’Twas the Night Before the Ride
’Twas the night before the Ride, and in Kelowna, BC,
All spokes were at rest, each bike ready to be.
The jerseys and helmets were hung with care,
In hopes that the children would feel love everywhere.
The riders were nestled in their hotel beds,
At the Sandman tonight, where they laid down their heads.
With visions of valleys and winding road climbs,
They dreamed of big hearts and community signs.
Gail from Lake Country, her 20th ride strong!
Two decades of giving, riding proud all along.
With heart and hustle, she’s lighting up the way,
Helping kids rise up and face a brighter day.
From Cranbrook to Kelowna, through valleys and bends,
They bring more than wheels, they bring hope that mends.
Through Osoyoos, Nelson, Invermere, Trail,
They’ll ride with a purpose that never will fail.
Each dollar they’ve gathered, each pledge they’ve inspired,
Is for children whose strength has been tested and tired.
A thousand long kilometers, with compassion to share,
Carrying the stories of children in care.
So here’s to the mission, so noble and bright,
Bringing comfort and care through each pedal and night.
As the journey begins with hearts open wide,
May the hearts you ride for be with you tonight.
